Become a Member

Potential Members:

           

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

          

  • Show interest in voluntarism with a commitment to community service and in developing your potential for voluntary community participation

        

  • Complete a new member application (below) 

         

  • Submit new member fee of $52.30 (below)

Members Will Receive:

​

  • Training for effective community leadership, including advocacy, community research, fundraising, finance, leadership, public relations, and personal development

  • Working with other women to create positive community change

         

  • Insight into community needs and strategies for solutions

         

  • Access to community leaders, new friends, and creative ideas

         

  • Exposure to creative strategies in problem solving and administration of a non-profit organization

      

  • Ability to transfer membership to other Junior Leagues

          

  • Membership meetings with educational speakers (community leaders, motivational speakers and others)

     

  • Participation in exciting fundraisers and special events

Junior League of Bakersfield Membership Application

I have received information on membership in the Junior League of Bakersfield and am aware of Provisional and Active member obligations. I understand the time and financial commitment of membership and agree to fulfill the requirements of the Provisional Course. I understand that the purpose of the Junior League is exclusively educational and charitable and is to promote voluntarism; to develop the potential of its members for voluntary participation in community affairs and to demonstrate the effectiveness of trained volunteers.
